1. Volunteer Forms –if you intend to participate in any activity (attending a field trip, volunteering in a classroom or other school related activity), you must have a volunteer form submitted and approved. Corporation policy states that this must be done each year. Please plan to do this early as some have waited until the last minute in the past, and it has cost them an opportunity to attend an activity with their child. Please take care of this now so that come May when your child wants you to go with him/her on their trip he/she will not be disappointed that you cannot attend. 2. Spell Bowl Try-Outs Begin Monday, September 19th
3. Fundraiser Orders – September 19th is the last day orders will be accepted.
4. 4th Grade Field Trip – September 20th
5. Book Fair will run September 19-23 with hours on Thursday, September 22 from 2:30-6:30pm
6. Family Literacy Night – September 22 from 6:30-7:30pm
7. Final Book Rental Payments Due October 1st
8. Picture Re-Takes – Friday, October 7th
9. End of First Grading Period – Friday, October 14th
10. Health Clinic News/Notes: The weather is changing and fall is upon us. With the change in seasons often come colds and other illnesses. Please remind your student of a few tips such as washing hands or using hand sanitizer periodically, as well as before eating, after restroom visits, and after coughing or sneezing which helps reduce the spread of germs. In turn, this helps prevent the spread of any illnesses. Encourage your student to cough into his/her sleeve rather than into the hands. Ask your student to avoid touching his/her nose, mouth, and eyes as these are prime areas for germs to enter. Finally, encourage your student to maintain a healthy diet and get plenty of sleep to help keep the immune system strong.
