Strengthening Families Program 2012
On Monday, February 27, 2012 Christy Harpold, School Social Worker at J.B. Stephens Elementary and Scott Stroud, School Social Worker at Maxwell Intermediate School will be offering the Strengthening Families Program. This course is a parent/family based program that promotes parenting skills, children’s life skills and family skills. The goal of this course is to strengthen the family bond and build upon the strengths that each parent and child already possess. Christy and Scott received training and a grant from Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse (NASA) to run this researched based program.
This free program is for families with children between the ages of 6-11. Families will meet every Monday night from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Location TBA. Classes will begin on February 27th and continue until May 28th. Each session includes a free dinner and child care for children less than 6 years of age.
