Students may bring in a special snack for “S” day on Tuesday May 19th. Don’t forget…tomorrow is also Field Day. It will be very chilly in the morning. Please have your children dress appropriately.
Monday January 19, 2015
We will NOT have math homelinks tonight. Instead we will have a Martin Luther King, Jr. fact sheet. Each student must write down 3 complete sentences detailing important parts of Dr. King’s life. A worksheet has been provided and should be in your child’s folder.
1. We will have school on Monday January 19th. This is a scheduled make up day. On that day, we will be learning about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. while still participating in our regular daily activities.
2. 2nd grade is hosting movie night on Friday February 13th. We will be sending home volunteer requests very soon. If you volunteer to help with movie night you will need to have a volunteer form on file.
3. January 16, 2015 Newsletter
We WILL be in school on January 19, 2015. This is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and we will spend a large portion of the day learning more about his life.
Please note that Middle of the Year mClass testing will be taking place over the next few weeks. Two days will be set aside specifically for testing. You will know in advance which days will be used for this purpose.
We will no longer have spelling contracts as part of our weekly homework routine. I am happy to send home an old spelling contract if you would still like to use some of the activities during the week.
We will be conducting our annual InView Test on Tuesday December 2nd. This test will last most of the morning hours. The assessment is used to determine those students who may be eligible for Quest in third grade. Results are also used by teachers to gain more understanding of our students current abilities and needs.
